In the outskirts of the historic town of Lochem lies the hamlet of Nettelhorst around a former castle.The still present ruins, with the beautifully renovated coach houses, still exude the atmosphere of the past. Our Waltakk farm is located in the hamlet of Nettelhorst. The name of the farm is derived from the word wald akker. In the past, annual wood sales were held on our farm.

Since the spring of 2005 we no longer milk cows. We now raise calves for two dairy farmers in our area. The calves arrive at our farm at the age of three months and leave our farm when they are pregnant. Since 1993 a farm campsite has been set up on part of our yard. In 2005, a former agricultural building was converted into 2 holiday apartments. In 2007 we created a new holiday apartment under the same roof as the other apartments for 18 people.Hospitality is our top priority - the family in Velthuis. Camping guests are welcomed in the recreation room with a cup of coffee or tea and a glass of lemonade for the children.Such a reception matches the geniality of the region and the management of the Waltakke. In our opinion, nothing is as good as recovering from a cup of coffee after a long journey. Moreover, it is a great way to get to know each other.
